What I felt like watching this episode. Dead.
I kind of regret picking this show for blogging, because all I’ve been doing is the same thing I did with SAO: watching a show I hate just so I can criticize it afterwards. Not wanting to experience that again (at least, until the second season of SAO comes) I dropped the show whilst officially declaring it worse than ef-a tale of melodies (and that’s terrible). Hopefully next season, I’ll pick a show I actually enjoy, because there are some great anime coming up that looks ripe for episodic blogging. Attack on Titan, The Flower of Evil, Devil Survivor 2, that Urobuchi show. All of them have got to be better than Salami-san and its stupid Shaft/Ganiax ripoff visual tricks, which is pretty bad considering this is an actual Shaft show directed by Shinbo. Oh, and some actually good dialogue would help. Seriously, am I the only guy who pays attention to dialogue when it comes to watching an anime?
Oh, the episode itself? Yeah, I’m not going to talk about it on account of that I couldn’t even finish the goddamn thing. The entire feel of it was off, spending way too much time on being random the same way Monogatari seems to think talking about girls being naked out of nowhere somehow counts as entertainment (it does at first, but it gets tiresome when you repeat it over and over again). Yeah, I get that the point was that Sasami-san was spending time with her mother, but the dialogue was so insipid that I could literally feel my brain cells dying quicker than the victims of Stink Bomb. Stuff does happen after fourteen minutes, but as I like to say regarding Robotics;Notes, too little too late!
Don’t believe Draggle either. This is way worse than Nekomonogatari (not sure about Kizu as there isn’t a subbed version out yet). At least that anime had the occasional good dialogue and fan service that was actually sexy, even if it could get annoying. Salami-san is full out atrocious on every level and I don’t have the time I used to have when it came to watching crap. Besides, I doubt I need to watch any more to know that this is the worst Shaft show I’ve ever seen (something MAL and I agree on for once). Enjoy your place on this list and this list you messily pretentious pile of trash!
